The All-Sports Booster Club is going to have a 50-50 raffle and concessions at the Scho-Burgh games. Some of the proceeds are going to benefit the MCS Booster Club to offset losses to the sports program and booster club itself. If anyone would like to donate baked goods or make a small cash donation to offset the expenses for supplies, that would be welcome also. They will be at the school Thursday and Friday during the games.

At the annual fall sports banquet the All-Sports Booster Club was presented with a huge thank you card from the JV players, from all seasons, for covering the costs of JV Sports. Pictured in the photos are, left to right: Gretchen Randazzo (All-Sports Booster Club), Alexis Carver, Carly Farineau and Anne Bevins (All-Sports Booster Club).

The All-Sports Booster Club is a private, not-for-profit organization whose members raise money to support our sports teams by funding items that may not fit into the school budget.  And we are now a full 501 (c) (3) organization so that your donations are federally tax-exempt.

The SCS All Sports Booster Club was proud to present the Board of Education with a check on November 2 to cover the costs for the Winter JV Sports programs at Schoharie. Included are JV Boys Basketball, JV Girls Basketball adn Cheerleading. This follows up the donation to cover Fall JV Sports earlier this year.

"While we are on way toward funding the Spring JV Sports programs, we aren't there yet. We will be looking for your support at upcoming events. Volunteers are needed for Basketball concession stands especially. Please consider giving just one evening of your time during the JV and Varsity home games."

SCS All Sports Booster Club meetings are held on the second Thursday of every month. at 6:30pm in the library reading room. Under special circumstances there may be meetings on the fourth Thursday also. If you are interested in attending, feel free to drop in or call Ann Bevins, president, at 813-0889. Volunteers are needed for the Winter Sports concession stands. Please call to donate even one evening of your time - it's alot of fun. We are currently working toward funding for the Spring JV Sports program.

The recent devastation to our school’s communities and also our neighboring communities has caused us to suspend most of our fund-raising activities out of respect for the families still in displaced circumstances.  However, our students do truly benefit from the outlet of organized sports and the All-Sports Booster Club had previously agreed to pay to reinstate funding for the JV Sports program cut from the school budget for the current 2011-2012 school year.  We plan to hold to that commitment to help give a sense of normalcy and accomplishment to the students and student athletes and foster pride in them for themselves, their school and their community.

To date funds have been raised and presented to the school for the Fall programs now underway.  Money has also been raised to fund the upcoming Winter program, but this will drain the Booster’s funds completely.  We are currently looking for ideas and assistance to raise the remaining money to fund Spring sports, while being sensitive to the desperately altered circumstances of our community.  We need your help!

If you are interested, please contact Booster Club President Ann Bevins, or Representative Barbara Sharpe.

The Baseball & Softball Association was created to improve the Schoharie Central School baseball and softball fields and playing equipment.

In less than two years, the Association raised over $17,000 and rebuilt both infields, leveled the outfields, improved the turf on the fields, built dugouts for both the baseball and softball fields, and purchased a new pitching machine.

The Association continues raising money and coordinating the necessary work as needed.  If you would like to volunteer, please call Mark and Chris Quandt 295-7829, or Chip and Diane Beninati 872-2797.

The Wrestling Booster Club provides our athletes with what they need to be successful on the mat.  Our primary goal is to raise funds for uniforms, equipment and traveling expenses for competitions.  We host the Dominick Kossman tournament annually as our primary fundraiser, but fundraising also includes smaller efforts throughout the year.  We welcome and encourage new members - the more help and participation, the more successful we can be!  Please contact Kellie and Mike Rosa at 872-9820 or Michelle Durfee at 872-0554 or Sherry Thorington at 231-3997.

 SCHOHARIE WRESTLING
During this past winter, we accomplished our goal of raising funds in order to purchase a new mat for the wrestling team at a cost of $6,710.00. We would like to thank our school community, local businesses, and our wrestling parents for supporting our numerous fundraisers over the past couple of years to help us achieve our goal. We couldn't have done it without you, and we greatly appreciate your support.
Wrestling season will be here before we know it so be sure to come out and catch a glimpse of our new mat and support the team at one of our home matches this year. We are looking forward to a great season of Schoharie wrestling!
Thanks, Schoharie Wrestling Booster Club
